Dutch Supercar Challenge

The Dutch Supercar Challenge has grown to become the benchmark GT and Touringcars Championship of the BeNeLux region over the last nine years. The series offers close racing with beautiful cars on the most spectacular tracks Europe has to offer.

In 2010 the Dutch Supercar Challenge hosts no less than four divisions in which cars are classified on their power-to-weight ratio. The organizing body of the Dutch Supercar Challenge monitors the cars in each division closely by an in-house developed Powerlog system. This state of the art system which is installed in every car, measures the power the cars have at the wheels. The 2010 grid consist of amongst others: Dodge Vipers, Aston Martins, Porsche 911's, Moslers, and BMW’s. The variety of cars competing in Dutch Supercar Challenge is second to none.

During each race all competing teams have to make a mandatory pitstop of 60 seconds which enables a driver change. A part of the teams –but not all teams– puts two drivers forward instead of one. A handicap-system is installed to allow for a fair competition between the competitors whom have a different level of experience. The winning competitor has to take an penalty of 15 seconds where the car needs to be stationary in pitlane. A number two finisher is penalized by 10 seconds and a third finisher by 5 additional seconds. As soon as a competitor finishes fourth or lower, the handicap seconds are taken down again. A fourth place leads to a distraction of 5 seconds, fifth place 10 seconds and sixth place or lower 15 seconds until the minimum of 60 seconds of stationary time in the pitlane is reached. This handicap-system guarantees a fair battle in between professional drivers, semi-professional drivers and gentleman drivers.

During the Zolder Superleague the Dutch Supercar Challenge organizes four races where every race boasts roughly 40 GT- and Touringcars. The packed grids of the Dutch Supercar Challenge delivers the spectators close and exciting racing.

The Zolder Superleague is but one of many A-events in which the Dutch Supercar Challenge competes in 2010. The Dutch Supercar Challenge also races in the pre-show of the Masters of Formula 3 on Zandvoort, The Rizla+ Racing Days at the TT-Circuit of Assen and the Dutch Supercar Challenge Finals on Assen.

All events will be broadcasted on MotorsTV and SBS6 (Dutch channel).
